My sister is visiting at the moment (someone to help me take a full length outfit photo!) We have been out and about looking at bridal things for her upcoming wedding. Luckily she is very understanding that my bridesmaid dress does not need to be purchased in advance, I honestly have no idea what my body is going to look like 4 months post baby? (might be looking for a cover all kaftan style)
Showing off some new black wrist bling. I was on struggle street trying to bend over to do up these shoes, my husband remarked "he never thought the day would come when I would hang up the heels" off course that day has not yet come, he will just have to do them up from me now in my new unbend-able 32week pregnant state!
I decided to use up some more of my fabric stash to make a play mat/quilt for the baby, not as detailed as my last attempt but i figure that is a good thing as I won't feel too bad chucking it on the floor or wiping off baby mess.
31 weeks now and the bump is really starting to get heavy, its amazing how the simplest of things like getting out of bed become a challenge! Can't beat the feeling of a little life somersaulting round in your tummy though :)
My sister is getting married in a few months time, partly due to the fact that I
am a good sister and bridesmaid and partly due to the fact the my
current shape and size does not make shopping as fun as it used to be, I have been researching wedding shoes. The requirements are pretty loose at the moment; flat and relatively casual, I
found these pretty ones over at shopbop.
I spotted this tutorial over at a pair and a spare that was being re-posted because lets be honest the dip dye trend is not really going anywhere especially in clothes. I figured this could be the perfect way to refresh some of your limited maternity wardrobe or maybe you could even stray across into your man friends wardrobe :) surely there is a white shirt or two in there that won't be missed.
There are a few items in my wardrobe that I just keep going back to, things that I have in multiple colors (I bought 4 of these skirts :) and wear constantly in different combinations.
1. The button through shirt, wear with singlet underneath over jeans, skirt or leggings, adjust the amount of buttons you do up depending on the size of your belly! 2. Stretch Tube skirt, great for a warm day and in cooler weather pop leggings on under. 3.Skinny Jeans, I wear these for more dressy occasions, great with heels, turn the cuffs up a few times and add bright socks and sandals for a fun look. 4.Extra long tank, this is the most essential of all essentials!! I wear one almost everyday, so nice to know that my belly is not going to make any unwanted public appearances. 5. Wrap around dress, I'm told this will also be good for breast feeding with the cross over top, I love how the wrap front can be adjusted to fit with your growing belly 6.Colourful scarf, I'm of the opinion one can never have too many scarves, perfect to pop on with anything and everything to brighten an outfit up. 7.Maternity Leggins, these beauties from Soon Maternity are cut to sit below your bump, perfect for layering under the skirt, dress of just by themselves with the long tank to cover your bum. 8. Tunic style floaty dress, I have two black versions of this dress that I made myself and I have worn them endlessly, so much room for your tummy, looks great layer up and as is on a warm day.

I did a little wardrobe shuffle and cleared out a bunch of clothes that no longer fit. I was very happy to re-discover this top that was too big for me and now fits perfectly! The bump is getting pretty serious now, I overheard a mother in the supermarket telling her son that the lady had a baby inside her tummy!! cute! LIZ X
Just when I though the warm weather in Melbourne was well and truly over the sun comes back out!! It feel like we are having some sort of bonus round, but I'm not complaining. I have officially reached 30 weeks!! That combined with a trip to the hospital to meet my friends baby yesterday has definitely ramped up my "OMG I'm actually having a baby" moments, you would think I was pretty used to the idea by now but I still find that sometimes it takes me by surprise, I wonder if all first time mums experience this? I have been spending a bit of time at Tafe, the rings pictured below are a little something I whipped up, I'm all about the pinky ring right now. How cool is this vaguely Australiana necklace! a gift from my friend Harriet over at Textile and Terrain. LIZ X
After reading some pretty hilarious opinions on arm hair this morning on instagram I discovered this great range of textured bling over at Mr Kate such a great site with lots of fun DIY's and of course an online shop full of awesome jewellery!! LIZ X
